Cuban rowing to increase Olympic quotas for Paris 2024



 HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 16 (ACN) Cuban rowing will continue its pursuit of quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a multi-sport event scheduled from July 26 to August 11.

Angel Luis Garcia, president and commissioner of the National Federation, told the Cuban News Agency that it has already approved a critical route, which highlights the qualifier in Lucerne, Switzerland, from May 16 to 21.

Garcia recalled that the participation in Paris has already been assured for singles players Reidy Cardona (1xH) and Yariulvis Cobas (1xF), who continue in the preparation, as well as, but pending places, Roberto Carlos "Paz and Leduar Suarez, in the double sculls (2xH), in all cases in the open category.

He added that Cardona and Yariulvis won tickets to the Pre-Olympic Tournament of the Americas, held at the Rodrigo Freitas Lake in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

These four rowers will do what they have planned along with coaches Juan Manuel Paula and Vladimir Reyes, Dr. Rita Maria Martinez and physiotherapist Omar Diaz Gil.

Before the Swiss qualifying tournament, all of them will be in a training base in Kazan, Russia, and then they will compete in the World Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, and in an international regatta in Moscow.
