Cuban Jasiel Rivero to miss some games in Spanish basketball league

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 18 (ACN) Cuban Jasiel Rivero, a member of Valencia Basket in the ACB basketball league in Spain, will miss several games in the current season 2022-2023, due to a muscle tear in the calf of the left leg.

This was announced by his club through its official website, in a release stating that Rivero felt some discomfort in his left leg at the end of Sunday's game against UCAM Murcia, and the tests he underwent today have confirmed the injury.

This unforeseen event comes at a time when the Cuban player was being the most outstanding of his team so far this season, with numbers that reflect his great performance on the court.

For example, Rivero is currently the leader in valuation in the Endesa League, with an average of 26.5 points per game, thanks to 19.0 and 5.8 rebounds.

Also in the Euroleague, the highest level of basketball tournament in this continent, his statistics show 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 16.5 valuation in his first two games with the Valencians, who have two defeats without victories in that competition.

The Cuban's injury comes at the worst moment for the Spanish team, which has accumulated four consecutive setbacks, two in the ACB League and another two in the European club competition.
