BAYAMO, Cuba, January 27 (ACN) Four new ambulances have been assigned to the eastern province of Granma, from a batch of 50 recently acquired with funds from the Cuban state budget.
The news was published in La Demajagua digital, which quotes as its source the Facebook profile of Dr. Yelenis Elias Monte, provincial director of Public Health.
The ambulances were assigned to the regional bases of the Integrated Medical Emergency System (SIUM) in the municipalities of Bayamo, Jiguani, Manzanillo, and Niquero.
These vehicles meet international standards for the services they provide, have basic equipment, and are equipped to accommodate additional diagnostic and resuscitation equipment, according to the website Cubadebate.
They also have adequate autonomy, are energy efficient, and are supported by a maintenance service that ensures their operation.
While the arrival of these modern vehicles does not fully meet the demand, it strengthens the ambulance service amidst a complex economic situation.
