Havana, Dec 8 (ACN) Cuban Health Minister Jose Angel Portal Miranda congratulated the workers of the Havana-based Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK) on the 85th anniversary of their institution.
In tune with the thinking of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, IPK is one of those research centers proving that Cuba is a country of men and women of science, said the minister on his Twitter account.
The institute was founded on December 8, 1937 as part of the medical school of the University of Havana. At the center has international scope improving its technology and services to meet the needs of the Cuban people.
