Cuba reported 72 new cases of COVID 19, 71 discharged and no deaths



HAVANA, Cuba, May 16 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 4,711 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting positive 72 for 1.5% positivity. The country accumulates 13,794,968 samples taken and 1,104,661 positive (8.0%).

At the end May 15, a total of 2,089 patients had been admitted, 1,596 suspected, 25 under surveillance and 468 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases,68 were contacts of confirmed cases, 2 with source of infection abroad and 2 with no source of infection specified. There were 71 medical discharges, accumulating 1,095,605 (99.2%) and there were no deaths. Ten confirmed patients are being treated in the ICUs, including one in critical and nine in severe condition.

Among the 72 positive cases, 12.5% (9) were asymptomatic, totaling 146,903, representing 13.3% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (34), 20 to 39 (14), 40 to 59 (8), 60 and over (16).
