HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 30 (ACN) Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla highlighted on Monday on Twitter Cuba was elected to a three-year term on the executive committee of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The foreign minister thanked in that social media the support of the member countries to the candidacy of the Caribbean nation, despite the attempts of the United States to hinder it.
Currently the world is facing a virus that does not distinguish societies or ideologies, and to face it more than 3,700 Cuban health professionals have collaborated in 39 countries and territories, Rodriguez Parrilla added.
During two days, the 58th Directing Council of PAHO was held online, where the ministers of the sector from the region of the Americas presented aspects of the fight to face the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as agreed upon policies and actions to face the main challenges in health and established the priorities of the entity's technical cooperation with its member countries.
