HAVANA, Cuba, November 24 (ACN) With the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, the 41st Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025) is being opened today in Havana.
The largest commercial event in Cuba and the region, held at the Expocuba fairgrounds, brings together businesspeople, private entrepreneurs, specialists, and official and chamber delegations from around 50 nations until Saturday, November 29, to establish alliances and business deals.
Accompanying the Cuban president are Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic, and Oscar Perez-Oliva Fraga, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, along with other government leaders and representatives.
This event is taking place in a complex local and international context, marked by a tightened US blockade, financial subversion, the impact of Hurricane Melissa on the eastern provinces, and other limitations.
Cuba will showcase its potential for exports and foreign investment. The opening day's program includes a Cuba-Russia business forum and the inauguration of several priority thematic areas, such as artificial intelligence, the energy transition, and positioning the Caribbean nation and its products and services in the global market, among others.
