
Havana, Nov 21 (ACN) Cuba reaffirmed today its climate commitment in the final stretch of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) by presenting circular-economy projects and its entry into the carbon market.
According Cuban Foreign Ministry, the island delegates addressed technological cooperation and knowledge transfer during meetings with Astrid Schumacher, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and with experts from Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, on technological cooperation and knowledge transfer.
The carbon-market mechanism will allow Cuba to trade greenhouse-gas emission rights, generating financial and technological income to reinvest in the energy transition process.
The Cuban delegation stressed that climate action is no longer an abstract concept but is becoming a concrete path toward sustainability, resilience, and environmental justice.
