HAVANA, Cuba, November 12 (ACN) Representatives from 47 countries and from the European Union have confirmed their participation in the 41st Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025), albeit the figure is expected to exceed 50, Deputy Prime Minister Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga announced at a press conference in Havana.
Mr. Pérez-Oliva, who is also Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and chairs the Organizing Committee, stressed that the largest trade and business event in Cuba and the region will be attended as usual by businesspeople, official and chamber of commerce delegations, and international organizations, in addition to 16 official delegations, representatives of groups such as ALBA-TCP, the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), and 15 investment and business promotion agencies.
FIHAV 2025 will take place on November 24 to 29 at the EXPOCUBA fairgrounds under complex circumstances marked by the U.S. government's trade war, the unprecedented intensification of its blockade of Cuba, and the recovery efforts under way in the eastern provinces after the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa.
The event will include the 8th Investment Forum, the presentation of the Portfolio of Opportunities, and National Days in honor of the participating countries, as well as the Caribbean Banking Forum on November 26 and 27.
The official also remarked that there will be a meeting with Cubans based abroad and a session to update participants on the progress of the Government Program to correcting distortions and revitalize the economy.
Antonio Carricarte Corona, president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that 20 of these institutions will come to FIHAV 2025, an event bound to showcase examples of joint ventures and partnerships between the public and private sectors intended to revitalize the economy, reduce imports, and promote exports.
