Havana, November 12 (ACN) The economic warfare promoted and financed by the U.S. Department of State through the platform El Toque and its exchange rate was exposed on the Cuban TV evening news’ space Razones de Cuba (Cuba’s Reasons).
This denunciation follows up on Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla’s statement before the United Nations General Assembly on October 29, where he held that Cuba has gathered evidence of the maneuvers encouraged by the United States to artificially increase inflation in the island, erode the population's purchasing power, and trigger social unrest to accelerate its regime change objectives.
Journalist and presenter Humberto López revealed reports about the allocation of U.S. taxpayers’ funds to the companies Media Plux Experience and Mas Voces Foundation, both registered to El Toque director José Jasán Nieves Cárdenas, who is also linked to the subversive platform Periodismo de Barrio.
He explained that some of this money is used to foster subversion among the new economic actors and certain figures identified by the State Department as being involved in an illegal currency trafficking network, actions classified as Financial Terrorism.
The audiovisual evidence included statements made in 2024 by Xavier Billingsley, Deputy Chief of Public Relations at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, and by currency purchasers implicated in this inflationary operation organized behind the banking system and conducive to the excessive growth of the exchange rates to drive up prices and weaken the economy.
It was emphasized that this is not a crusade against the aforementioned media outlets, but rather an examination of the way their platforms kowtow to interest financed by a foreign power, which the Cuban people, who suffer the consequences of these maneuvers, have increasingly denounced.
