HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 15 (ACN) Cuba's progress in developing rural tourism and agrotourism will be one of the topics addressed during the 10th Ibero-American Meeting, which will take place from September 29 to October 5 in the western region of the archipelago.
Francisco Longino Franquiz Dominguez, Director of Events and Incentives at the travel agency Ecotur, emphasized other points of interest such as the experience with the Rural Tourism Chair at the Agrarian University of Havana and the integration of local and government stakeholders, as well as the linkage with universities.
Franquiz Dominguez recently highlighted at a press conference the scenario for the development of local Cuban tourism, the strategy to transform agricultural attractions into tourist offerings, advances in sustainable agrotourism, permaculture, regenerative, inclusive, accessible, and smart tourism, among other areas of interest.
Success stories within the sector will be analyzed, along with the potential of Pinar del Rio as a pioneering province in agrotourism, and the work to implement multi-destination agrotourism programs, he explained.
The 10th Ibero-American Meeting on Rural Tourism and Agrotourism "For Sustainable Community Development" aims to strengthen joint actions based on each of the indicators outlined in the 2030 Agenda.
The event, organized by the Ibero-American Institute of Rural Tourism and the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, will have the Ecotur agency, which specializes in the management of nature tourism and rural adventure, as its official host.
