SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, June 25 (ACN) The promotion of foreign cooperation and investment is a priority in the city of Santiago de Cuba's efforts to salvage and boost the local and national economy through strategic alliances and business deals.
Madelaine Cortés, director of foreign trade for the provincial government, remarked that Santiago has a portfolio of around twenty projects approved for foreign investment for the benefit of key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, mining, the pharmaceutical industry, construction, and food production, whereas provincial governor Manuel Falcón emphasized the security and confidence of investing in the Santiago de Cuba, known for its committed, dedicated and hardworking people.
Beatriz Johnson, First Secretary of the Communist Party in the province, said that no challenge goes unconquered when there are friends and people fighting for the common good of humanity and the development of a continent through innovation, science, intelligence, and cooperation.
Likewise, city curator Omar López stressed that the local cultural, architectural, historical and natural assets make of 500-plus year-old Santiago a most important attraction among Cuban and foreign visitors.
The business forum was held in the context of the international fair EXPOCARIBE 2025 and the celebration of the 510th anniversary of the Hero City of Santiago de Cuba on July 25th.
