HAVANA, Cuba, June 24 (ACN) The Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines and UNIDO organized the Workshop for the Implementation of the Energy Transition Strategy in the Industrial and Service Sectors, intended to highlight the island's potential to make the most of these concepts in various industrial sectors where a number of development-oriented projects are under way.
According to Ivette Tortosa, UNIDO Project Associate, the main goal of the workshop is to promote the organization's experience regarding the deployment of energy transition programs and projects and the role of industry in national climate-related policies.
The program features discussion about energy management and efficiency within the framework of the National Strategy for Energy Transition and a review of the results achieved by the initiative "Support the Implementation of the Energy Management and Conservation Program" initiative, which UNIDO develops in Cuba since 2019.
“The workshop will also serve as a space for sharing views among the main Cuban enterprises engaged in steps to change the energy matrix in their respective sectors”, Ms. Tortosa noted.
