Cuban Drink Company expands production capacity

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Jun 20 (ACN) With the creation of the state-owned SME Roble Blanco, the Beverage and Soft Drink Company (Ember) in the eastern province of Holguin increases its production capacity to fulfill the demands of the national market, contribute to the local economy, and generate new business opportunities.

Dedicated to the industrialization of raisin wines and different types of liqueurs, the new management model is geared toward raising foreign currency through domestic trade, according to Martin Pupo Marrero, director of Ember, who told the Cuban News Agency.

As the sole partner of the SME, the company supplies the raw materials necessary for the production, equipment, and the premises, located at the company's headquarters, while the other partner handles the production and marketing processes.

The cooperation between the two companies allows the brand to operate and strength until Roble Blanco can establish its own supply chains to directly acquire resources such as alcohol, sugars, and flavorings, explained Ibis Cruz Calzado, sales promoter for the provincial entity.

In addition, plans are underway to expand the product line, which currently includes strawberry, mint, anise, and coconut liqueurs, to expand offerings aimed at the hospitality and tourism sectors, which will contribute to replenishing the market with local recipes, she added.

Ember in Holguin, part of the Ministry of the Food Industry, boasts nationally recognized brands such as Bariay rum, Coronilla aguardiente, pru oriental, and La Cigüeña aliña'o, with which they promote the revival of the traditional Cuban beverage.
