Cuban Airline Company Looks for Alliances to Improve Infrastructure

Havana, April 1 (ACN) Cubana de Aviacion Airline Company launched initiatives Tuesday at Havana’s International Transport and Logistics Fair looking for alliances with foreign and local partners to improve infrastructure and services.

Cubana S.A Aviation Corporation (CACSA) Joel Beltran said that the development of the airport infrastructure has been a key issue to address over the past few years including facility modernization to encourage tourism, trade and international connectivity.

Cuba has 10 international airports and some of them including the airplanes need constant modernization in several aspects, so CACSA works to guarantee the security and efficiency of each operation, said the executive.

Beltran referred to recent projects to improve runways and platforms current and future investment actions at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport to upgrade capacity for 10 million passengers annually.

But these projects face the limited financing resulting from the blockade imposed by the US against Cuba, internal crisis and shortage of spare parts and technology.

However, Cuba is determined to keep advancing the modernization of its airports with local and foreign investment, the executive noted.

The International Transport and Logistics Fair will run till April 3.
