Havana, Feb 26 (ACN) The perfect combination of products representing Cuban culture and cuisine with the most exquisite rums, cigars and coffee produced here marked the third day of the 25th International Habano Cigar Festival, underway in this city capital till Friday.
Many of over 3 thousand visitors from 110 countries participating at the festival, hosted by Havana’s Conventions Hall, learned about Cuban history and traditions, and about the identity and authenticity of the Cuban products.
This way, the visitors understood that certain alliances between these products improve their quality and promote their international demand and prestige.
Cuban traditional cuisine and gastronomy are still alive as they are developed by hundreds of Cuban nationals abroad, said Chef Eddy Fernandez, founder and president of the Cuba Culinary Federation during a testing session.
The alliances between Habano cigars and Cuban aged rums were well accepted by lovers of Cuban cigars made from tobacco leaves cultivated in the westernmost province of Pinar del Rio, as well as the gourmet coffee cultivated on Cuban mountainous areas.
Participants also learned about the performance and contribution of 827 million dollars to Cuban economy by 165 cigar shops operated by Habanos S.A. corporation in 60 countries of the world.
