Habano Festival, a global benchmark in the cigar industry

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 25 (ACN) The Habano Festival, organized year after year by the Habanos S.A. joint venture, can be described as a global reference event in the premium cigar industry.

Its 25th edition, opened on Monday along with the accompanying trade fair, is attended by a record 3,300 businessmen, specialists, distributors and aficionados of those luxurious handmade cigars, visitors from 110 countries.

Until Friday 28, the Cuban capital becomes the world's main stage in the world of cigars, with exclusive launches of new products or vitolas, some of them paired with rums like the one presented this Monday by Havana Club International S.A., in limited quantities.

At one of the stands of the trade fair, at the Havana Convention Center, the corporation presented the Havana Club extra-aged rum Havana Club 25th Habano Festival Limited Edition.

According to its specialists, it is an exclusive creation designed to celebrate tradition, innovation and the brotherhood between the company and Habanos S.A., and becomes a true tribute to the union between rum and tobacco, two icons of Cuban culture that naturally complement each other.

In addition to reflecting the know-how of Maestros roneros, this special edition is perfect for pairing with high-quality Habanos, making it an ideal tribute to the 25th Habano Festival.

On the first day of activities, the initial stage of the 6th edition of the Habanos World Challenge contest took place, and at a press conference, executives of the aforementioned mixed company gave details of the results in terms of income from the sales of Premium cigars in more than 130 nations during 2024.

A record figure of 827 million dollars, which represents a 16 % growth compared to the previous year, reaffirms the positioning and prestige of this Cuban exportable product.

Habanos S.A. has a unique portfolio of 27 brands, all of them under the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), and on this occasion some of them will be the main protagonists of the festival.
