Havana, Feb 11 (ACN) Havana’s emblematic National Hotel will host the 2nd Bar Lady bartender international competition March 7-9 as homage to all women in Cuba who preserve the cocktail tradition.
The event, sponsored by the Cuba Tourism Ministry and the Association of Cuba Bartenders celebrates the women bartenders’ skills in a competition exposing creativity and talent.
Mirtha de las Mercedes is the Cuban bartender representing the island at the competition, which will be attended by representatives of 17 countries.
Greek Nafsika Mouzakiti was the creator of the Bar Lady event to empower women in the bartender modality. Finish Greta Gronholm, cocktail maker world champion and member of the International Bartender Association leads the competition and picked Cuba to host the second meet.
Participants include women bartenders from Uruguay, Türkiye, Brazil, Greece, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Island, Poland, Belize, Panama, Germany, Puerto Rico, Finland, Venezuela, and Cuba.
