SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Feb 3 (ACN) The Abel Santamaria International Airport, in the central city of Santa Clara, received the first arrival from the Czech Republic during the year, to open flights from Europe in 2025.
Managed by the World2Fly airline, the flight arrived on Saturday in the main air terminal of the province of Villa Clara with 281 passengers, to restart an open route between Prague and Santa Clara in 2024.
Lester Bello, director of the Abel Santamaria International Airport, said the air link will have a weekly frequency, every Saturday until next March 29, as part of the connections between Cuba and European nations.
According to Odalys Gutiérrez, an official of the air terminal, as part of the protocols established for entry into the country, the first and second line of sanitary surveillance took place, a mechanism that guarantees border security.
The route between Prague and Santa Clara will allow passengers to stay in the hotel areas of Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Cayo Santa Maria, the main tourist resorts in the country's central region.
