Cuban PM urges to consider budget must correspond to the municipal strategy

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Jan 27 (ACN) The plan and budget must correspond to the municipal development strategy, said Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, during the 16th ordinary session of the Assembly of People's Power of Gibara (AMPP) in the eastern province of Holguin, where he analyzed the projections for 2025.

Marrero Cruz insisted that the real needs of the inhabitants must be taken into account when drawing up a plan that will impact on their living conditions, where the territory's potentialities must also be identified in order to increase income that will be reverted into popular welfare.
The increase in food production and the improvement of water supply conditions for the population were modular topics among which the main premise was the growth in the cultivation of fruits, viands and grains in order to achieve local self-sufficiency, the reduction of costs and the contribution to the standard family basket.

The budget approved for the Public Health and Education sectors and the social programs are priorities, which with a figure of over 66 million pesos are directed to continue the construction of the General Hospital Doctor Gustavo Aldereguia, the Medical Equipment Program and the progress in the Housing Program.

In this respect, he explained that due to the high prices of the materials and the contracting of private companies to execute some of these works, what is destined does not completely satisfy the requirements of the territory, for which reason it is necessary to establish a standardized rate in the country to offer a solution to the problem.

In addition, among the projected lines of work, the also member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba pointed out that the proposals made in the process of accountability assemblies, the increase of income with the use of raw materials and the increase of physical productions beyond the retail commercial circulation cannot be ignored.

On the other hand, based on the weaknesses detected in 2024, the objectives for the current period are the continuation of the change in the energy matrix with the use of renewable sources, the control of inflationary free market prices by the new actors of the economy and the elimination of tax evasion crimes.

During the assembly, Oscar Fernandez Arcos was appointed as the new intendant, three deputy intendants and six members of the Municipal Administration Council. Also present were Maritza Cruz Garcia, vice minister of Finance and Prices; Manuel Francisco Hernandez Aguilera, governor of Holguin; among other authorities of Gibara.
