Cuban peasants condemn Cuba's inclusion in illegitimate U.S. list

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 21 (ACN) In a statement issued Tuesday, the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) decried U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to reinstate Cuba as state sponsor of terrorism.
Below is the full text of the message.

Statement by ANAP:
The Cuban peasantry repudiates the inclusion of our country, once again, in the spurious and illegitimate list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

It is an arrogant, high-handed act of contempt for the truth and aggression against our people intended to strengthen the ruthless economic war the U.S. has waged on Cuba for more than six decades, which carries adverse implications for our international economic relations.

The word of order in the Cuban countryside is to surmount every difficulty with our own efforts, creativity, and firm decision to face up to and overcome the impact of the intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government to suffocate our economy, spread lies, and fuel discouragement through the media and digital platforms at its service.

All these measures increase the damages to and have effects on the peasant families, forced to work and produce in conditions of a true war economy; to constantly face obstacles and prohibitions designed to prevent the arrival of the consumables and resources that Cuba needs to develop agricultural activity, a vital source of food for the people.

In view of this, we ratify our commitment to never give up and our willingness to keep protecting the achievements that have brought us dignity since the triumph of the Revolution, to remain ready to fight, and to close ranks around the Party, the Revolution and support our Government.

In the face of every adversity and material limitation, we will keep finding alternatives based on our own strengths, capacity and intelligence, to contribute more to production and to the socioeconomic development of the Cuban countryside, as practical proof that it is possible!

We Cuban peasants will continue to carry on with our chief mission, which is, first of all, to be faithful to our history and to the Homeland, to defend unity, and to remain endlessly loyal to the Revolution.
