Cuba Ron Company announces international scientific-technical colloquium

 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 5 ( ACN) The Cuba Ron S.A. Corporation announced the holding of the 7th International Scientific-Technical Colloquium, dedicated to the knowledge of Cuban rum masters, Intangible Heritage of Humanity, proclaimed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco).

Andro Abon Nazar, president of the Corporation, said exclusively to the Cuban News Agency that the event will be held Nov 13-15 at the San Geronimo College, also dedicated to the 505th anniversary of Havana, and expects the participation of around 200 personalities from Italy, France, Spain, Holland, Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba, among other nations.

The executive expressed that after five years the Colloquium, which always alternated with a Festival, is back and will be a scenario where suppliers, national and foreign clients and partners will share their experiences, from those who produce the cane to those who distribute the light rum, together with the national culture and identity.

Abon Nazar stated that from innovation they intend to recover the important chain of sugarcane production, the economic actors in the production of Cuban light rum, a debt they are trying to settle with history and society.

The Colloquium will feature lectures by renowned specialists and the presence of the Masters of Cuban Light Rum, who will share stories of their research and knowledge in this exciting world.

The Rum Festival, an event designed for marketing and commercialization, is scheduled for next year.
