GRANMA, Cuba, Sep 24 (ACN) Cuba's southeastern region, which is hosting the 14th International Tourism Conference TURNAT 2024, is ideal to enjoy a matchless experience in ecotourism, according to Raúl Naranjo Aday, general director of the Ecotur S.A. Travel Agency.
“Nature tourism is becoming increasingly popular among travelers seeking adventure and healthy recreation supported by education, environmental culture, sun, beach and direct contact with the flora and fauna,” he said, “and Cuba boasts an excellent historical scenery, landscapes, mountains, valleys, rivers, caves, farms, protected areas, biosphere reserves and national parks with guaranteed environmental safety, sustainability, resilience, inclusion and accessibility.”
On his end, Adalberto Venero Lemus, deputy minister of Tourism, stressed that this conference reasserts Cuba’s commitment to the development of sustainable and responsible tourism based on strategic alliances, the promotion of new destinations, and practices that respect and value natural environments.
Held in a Cuban region teeming with biodiversity and natural beauty, TURNAT 2024 covers 85 destinations across three provinces, giving participants an opportunity to explore eastern Cuba through a program that features tours of farms, hiking, photographic safaris and trips to nautical attractions.
