HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 11 (ACN) Cuba's culinary and rum-making tradition, evolution and ways of consumption nowadays will be the focus of the 14th International Festival Varadero Gourmet, which opens today in this tourist destination of Western Cuba.
According to Cuba Ron, S.A., the day’s program features a keynote lecture by Ronera de Cárdenas and La Vizcaya about the history, work and production of light rum, as well as paper presentations and tastings of the local rums Perla del Norte, Sao Can and Kawama.
During the event, tourism and food companies will showcase their goods and services and participate in contests of bar-tending, tasting, and pairing rum with Cuban cigars.
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the Cubasol Business Group, and Empresa Extrahotelera Palmares S.A., the International Festival Varadero Gourmet celebrates Cuban culture and traditions through unique gastronomic experiences.
