HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 9 (ACN) To enhance the values and influence of Arab gastronomy in Latin American cuisine, the 11th Excelencias Gourmet 2024 International Gastronomic Seminar will be held at the Tropicana Cabaret in Havana on Sept. 25 and 26.
Jose Carlos de Santiago, president of the Excelencias Group, explained today at a press conference that the event will be dedicated to halal gastronomy, which includes foods allowed by Islamic law and specified in the Koran.
With the support of the Federation of Culinary Associations of Cuba, the Ministry of Tourism, the Association of Cuban Bartenders (ACC by its Spanish acronym) -the longest-running in the world- and other institutions, the seminar will provide a space for dialogue to discover the influence of Arab cuisine and cocktails in Ibero-America.
De Santiago said that this route through international cuisine can be traveled through conferences by researchers on the subject, whose studies have contributed to the certification of products and establishments.
He underscored the presence of experts from Spain's Halal Institute, Venezuela's Ministry of International Tourism and renowned chefs from Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Cuba.
The Excelencias Group is a platform to promote the most authentic gastronomy and defend the traditions that identify each country that still has many treasures to show in its cuisine, he stated.
