Cuban special municipality to strengthen ties between economic actors

NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) The Isle of Youth seeks to strengthen the links between the different economic actors involved in the production of food and other goods, to make the most of the installed industrial capacities and the available endogenous resources.

The productive chain -key to boost the local economy- is based on the association of state enterprises, productive entities, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and self-employed workers (TCPs by its Spanish acronym), which are part of the value chain of a product and interact to obtain joint benefits and increase their competitiveness standards.

In a working session of the Municipal Administration Council, when analyzing the current situation of the economy in the territory, Adiel Morera Macías, in his capacity as mayor, emphasized that the territory has sufficient resources to achieve food sovereignty by 2030, but there are still insufficient initiatives to achieve productive volumes that meet the demands of the local population.

He urged the use of all available raw materials, productive efficiency and the optimization of financial resources, energy carriers and human resources, as the main way to take off in an unfavorable environment, signed by the consequences of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States to Cuba.
He added that this special municipality has enough endogenous resources to boost food production, as well as other necessary items for the economic development and welfare of the population, "all that is needed is greater integration and coordination among those involved".
