Cuban MSMEs contribute to the country's digital transformation

CIENFUEGOS, Cuba, Jan 8 (ACN) A little more than a year in operation, the medium-sized company PerlaTec, in the central province of Cienfuegos, contributes to the digital transformation of the territory by offering solutions in technology, software development and customized mobile applications, telecommunications, air conditioning, communication and digital marketing.

Computer engineer Andy Machin Gonzalez, managing partner of the business, told the Cuban News Agency that in recent months they strengthened the work of the entity through the marketing, repair and maintenance of computer equipment, air conditioners, splits, refrigerators and interior design at the request of individuals, while strengthening the link with companies and institutions.

He said that in 2023 they were involved in the project of the first intelligent rural community in the province, located in the agricultural production cooperative 26 de Julio, in the municipality of Abreus.

That initiative, carried out together with specialists from the University of Cienfuegos Carlos Rafael Rodriguez, allowed them to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants, after installing computers and a mini-network for the connection, the director of the enterprise said.

Among the strengths and projections for 2024, he mentioned the alliances with the Ministry of Communications, the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba and the direction of the Young Computer and Electronics Club (JCCE by its Spanish acronym) in the territory, in addition to the university of the province, the latter with the aim of creating a teaching-research classroom to carry out studies on robotics, intelligent systems and renewable energies in the future.

Likewise, he commented, we aspire to create circles of interest together with Education and the JCCE for children, adolescents and young people with interest in Computer Science and aptitudes for subjects related to technology in the 21st century.

With 40 employees, PerlaTec has a wide range of products and services, while guaranteeing quality, efficiency and commitment to the customer.
