Campaign for Affidavit and Payment of Taxes 2024 kicks off in Cuba

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 8 (ACN) The 2024 tax declaration and payment campaign, a process led by the National Tax Administration Office (ONAT), began today throughout the country.

Vladimir Regueiro Ale, Minister of Finance and Prices, told Granma newspaper that the payment of taxes is the main source of the State Budget that guarantees the development of social programs.

This must be a campaign that shows results superior to those achieved in 2023, both by natural and legal persons of the state and non-state sectors, when exercising their fiscal duty, he added.

Regueiro Ale explained that the ONAT has created the conditions to be more rigorous in the verification of the contents of the Affidavits (DJ by its Spanish acronym) and the demand for their compliance; at the same time he praised the consolidation and expansion of the services provided by the Office to facilitate fulfillment of the campaign.

Mary Blanca Ortega Barredo, head of the ONAT, pointed out that this process involves more than 810,000 taxpayers, and concentrates its greatest activity in the first quarter of the year.

This year will have as a novelty that for legal entities that liquidate the tax on profits, it will be mandatory to file the DJ in digital format -already signed-, except for the productive forms of agriculture, which may do so if they have the conditions to do so.
