LAS TUNAS, Cuba, Dec 21 (ACN) The Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA) Calixto Sarduy, in the province of Las Tunas has just harvested its first-ever batch of Habanero chili pepper for export through the importing/marketing enterprise Agroint.
Using the biofertilizer Eccomic made by this CPA—the only one of its kind in eastern Cuba—the harvest produced 130 kg of Habanero, according to its director, Eng. Rafael Antonio García.
Even if stockbreeding is the CPA’s main activity, it has made incursions into the production of various crops for on-farm consumption and for the local community, the entity is testing Eccomic on other crops, including sweet potatoes, cassava, and Cuban and Uruguayan wheat, the young scientist remarked.
