HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 20 (ACN) Cementos Cienfuegos S.A., the largest factory of its kind in Cuba, is getting its production capacity back on its feet.
According to financial manager Angel García de León, the entity, which is designed to deliver 1,600,000 tons per year, is currently working at 30% capacity, but it has managed to boost its online sales and exports and thus afford the production of cement with more ecological and economical additives to make up for Cuba's financial and energy crisis and salvage the obsolete technology of a plant that covers 60% of the island’s domestic needs.
The executive remarked that the factory is currently exporting cement to Mexico and Grand Cayman and engaged in negotiations with other countries.
