HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 19 (ACN) Representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) announced in this city the start of the third phase of the project Supporting Cuba in Aquaculture, intended to increase aquaculture production in the country through capacity building and the development of farming practices to boost food security and exports.
Mercedes López Acea, First Deputy Minister of the Food Industry (MINAL), praised the 60 plus year-old friendship between Cuba and Vietnam and thanked her guests for their support.
On his end, MARD deputy minister Tran Thanh Nam acknowledged Cuba's capacity to support the technicians and develop strategies to achieve the said goals and stressed his commitment to keep strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Cuba has worked with the Vietnamese Ministry in the organization of training courses and consultancies and the provision of related equipment since 2009, when the project was launched.
