HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (ACN) After two years of pandemic, the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022), one of the main commercial exchanges in Latin America and the Caribbean, will reopen today at Expocuba, with more than 60 countries confirmed to participate.

Some 400 national companies will exhibit their goods and services, including MSMEs and non-agricultural cooperatives, an excellent opportunity to give them visibility and establish linkages with other entities.

According to Antonio Luis Carricarte, president of the Chamber of Commerce, the aim is to boost foreign investment and exports, as well as to diversify the market and products with greater added value that will make Cuba's insertion in the international market sustainable and reduce imports of raw materials.

The foreign nations most represented in FIHAV 2022 are China, Russia, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, and for the first time the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of Laos will participate, Rodrigo Malmierca, head of foreign trade and investment, said a few days ago.

Besides today's opening of the fair, other significant events will be tomorrow, Tuesday, the 5th Investment Forum, where the new portfolio of business opportunities with foreign capital will be presented, the holding of several panels on economic issues and the celebration of its national days by 19 countries, which gives greater significance to their participation.
