Cuba to present results in tropical livestock management



 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 9 (ACN) Cuba will show its results in genetic improvement and the use of biotechnology, as well as in the conservation, development and application of phytogenetic and zoogenetic resources at the 6th International Congress on Animal Improvement, to be held on November 15 to 18 in this city.

Other important topics for discussion will be environmental sustainability, climate change and energy efficiency, local development and production linkages, and the management of science, technology, innovation, extensionism and ICTs. Likewise, the delegates will also look at feed conservation, milk and meat production systems and genetic innovation.

Cuban and foreign organizations, companies, universities, research centers, service entities, NGOs and tourism agencies, among others, are expected to participate.

The Congress will also include seven postgraduate courses that renowned researchers, doctors and teachers will give at Havana’s Center for Research on Animal Improvement of Tropical Livestock about reproductive biotechnology, genetic improvement in the tropics, climate change and livestock, evaluation of emissions, mitigation options and adaptation strategies, among other subjects.
