VARADERO, Cuba, Nov 6 (ACN) Vladimir Marquez Rodriguez, first bartender to represent Cuba in the World Cocktail Championship held in this seaside resort, is waiting for the verdict of the judges about his performance.
The bartender, with almost 30 years of experience, competed in the Sparkling category with the cocktail Déjà Vu, inspired by his father, who instilled in him a passion for the craft from an early age.
Márquez Rodríguez pointed out that it is an honor for any bartender to take part in the global competition and that representing Cuba was a twofold challenge, given the quality and professionalism of this event—held in the Island for the first time—in which a panel of experts evaluates both the quality of the mixes and the bartenders’ dexterity, skill and creativity.
Featured on the program of the World Cocktail Championship, which gathers more than 500 people from 60 nations, is an attempt at setting a Guinness Record with the world's biggest Adam and Eve cocktail in honor of its creator Sergio Serrano, champion of the 2003 edition and only Cuban winner so far.
