Effects of U.S. blockade on foreign, an item on today’s Cuba 2021 Business Forum agenda



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 1 (ACN) The main effects of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuban foreign trade and foreign investment will be discussed today at the 2nd Business Forum Cuba 2021, held online since Monday.

Wednesday's agenda also includes the presentation of existing business opportunities for Cuban entrepreneurs living abroad, who will talk about their experiences and achievements, as well as a panel on non-state management and foreign trade and an update on the process to approve MSMEs and new non-agricultural cooperatives, the number of service entities involved, and Cuba’s top exportable items and their main destination.

The II Cuba 2021 Business Forum has become a space to keep up with and exchange views on the transformations taking place in the Cuban economy, its main export goods and services, the new Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment and business opportunities in priority sectors such as tourism, biopharmaceuticals, agri-food and renewable energy sources.

More than 2,285 participants from 86 countries registered in the platform of the event, including eight government representations, 23 Chambers of Commerce, 41 Trade and Investment Promotion Agencies, 1,262 entrepreneurs from Cuba and elsewhere, and 215 non-state Cuban management forms, as Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, reported in his opening words.
