Online event on the effects of the US blockade on Cuban sports to be held in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 16 (ACN) The Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP by its Spanish acronym) and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder by its Spanish acronym) will hold tomorrow a virtual event titled Affectations of the U.S. blockade on Cuba in sports.

According to a statement sent to the press, the event will include speeches by executives, active athletes and sports glories, with transmission through the platforms @SiempreconCuba on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter, starting at 9:00 a.m. Cuban time.

The statement added that the event will be held at ICAP and will include the participation of solidarity movements at the global level, as it happens on the 17th of each month.

The U.S. blockade against Cuba has caused losses to sports, only last year and conservatively, amounting to 10 million dollars.

This criminal policy is the main barrier to the development of this sector in the Caribbean nation.
