HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Cuban Ministry of Communications (MINCOM) approved, so far, more than 3.100 licenses to operate private data networks or wireless data networks for natural persons, representing 71 percent of the licenses requested.
In an exclusive conversation with the Cuban News Agency, David Wong Sio, second head of the General Office of Communications, said that since the entry into force of the new MINCOM regulations last July, more than 4.000 applications have been received, 49 percent of them through the agency's website.
In accordance with the company's computerization process, Wong Sio pointed out that the option of requesting licenses and permits through the website reduces the cost of resources normally used in these procedures, while speeding up the process.
These regulations were approved in order to allow the creation of private wired or wireless data networks for natural and legal persons, as well as the importation of equipment for this purpose.
