
Havana, Nov. 20 (ACN) China’s Meadin Research Institute granted Cubathe “2025 Cultural Heritage Activation Partner Destination” award, in recognition of its work in preserving and revitalizing intangible cultural heritage.
The announcement was published on the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry quoting remarks by Cuba’s Tourism delegate for Asia Elizabeth Vela a the opening of the Meadin 2025 Culture and Tourism Festival. Vela said that Cuba is one of the most fascinating and unique destinations in the Caribbean region.
The strategic geographic position of the Caribbean island nation enhances its role as a leading multi-destination and site of reference in the region, the official noted.
In 2003, Cuba was declared Latin America’s first tourist destination for China offering interesting opportunities for Asian visitors. Along with its sandy beaches, Cuba offers excellent tobacco, high-quality coffee, internationally recognized rum, and tangible and intangible cultural heritage of great prestige.
