
HAVANA, Cuba, November 18 (ACN) The president of the Bogotá Film Festival (Bogocine), Henry Laguado, announced that the next edition of the event will honor the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) and its founder Alfredo Guevara on the centennial of his birth.
The news was delivered via an online press conference in which Mr. Laguado stressed that Bogocine intends to give ICAIC the recognition it deserves in such a globally significant event.
The program features the special presentation in Colombian movie theaters of the documentary Mijaín (2025), about the Cuban five-time Olympic champion Mijaín López, as well as the films ¿Por qué lloran mis amigas?" (Magda González Grau, 2018), El Regreso (Blanca Rosa Blanco, 2018), Una noche con los Rolling Stones (Patricia Ramos Hernández, 2024) and Vestido de Novia (Marilyn Solaya, 2014).
On his end, ICAIC president Alexis Triana Hernández pointed out that the said films were requested by the organizers of Bogocine to honor as well Cuba’s women filmmakers.
The annual festival Bogocine, scheduled to be held on November 20 to 26, enjoys great regional and international recognition.
