Foreign ballet students attend international workshop in Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, August 13 (ACN) The International Workshop of the Dance Department of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), directed by its director-general Viengsay Valdés and coordinated by Professor Mercedes Beltrán, opened its doors on Monday in this city with the participation of 150 students from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, the United States, Italy, Mexico, and Cuba.

Experienced teachers will give lessons in ballet, pointe, variations, pas de deux, and repertoire in their different modalities.

Also included are optional disciplines such as Contemporary Dance, Physical Fitness, and Makeup, as well as Jazz lessons, with the latter taught by a special guest, Brazilian teacher Lidia Alves.

The BNC Dance Department recently organized similar workshops in Caracas and Margarita Island, Venezuela, as part of its international outreach efforts.
