Havana will host 8th Colloquium "European Presences in Cuba"



 HAVANA, Cuba, June 29 (ACN) The Center for the Interpretation of Cuba-Europe Cultural Relations of Palacio del Segundo Cabo, an institution attached to the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, announced the 8th Colloquium "European Presences in Cuba," themed "Historical Asymmetries of Power, Intersectionality, Gender, Raciality, and Social Minorities".

Scheduled to be held on October 22 to 24, 2025, the event will address the historical relations between Cuba and Europe from a cross-sectional perspective and the way identities and social categories modify and affect the experiences of individuals in their environment.

The Organizing Committee invites researchers from various social fields to present papers focused on the deconstruction of the historical macro-narratives and the questioning of the prevailing ones with a view to a plural understanding of history, as well as on the topic of decolonization in the interpretation of history and the role of pretermitted subjects in social and cultural processes.

The Colloquium is open to scholars dedicated to fields such as history, philosophy, pedagogy, art History, philology, cultural anthropology, sociology, political science, economics, communication, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, museology, archival studies, and related disciplines.
