HAVANA, Cuba, May 27 (ACN) The Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso, highlighted in Mexico, the results of the cultural policy of the Revolution and reaffirmed the commitment to its momentum despite the economic challenges arising due to the US blockade.
According to a report published on the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alonso stressed that no art schools or cultural institutions have been closed in Cuba, and that the community continues to be the essential front for democratization and access to cultural services.
The note added that the head of the ministry recalled that the campaign against Cuba has as one of its main objectives the cultural sphere, but emphasized that the vast majority of artists continue working with the institutions and with the Revolution.
He also addressed the effects of the blockade on strategic sectors such as access to fuel, spare parts, food and medicines, hindering the sustainability of the national economy.
Finally, Alonso thanked Mexico for its support, highlighting its constant solidarity with the Cuban people, in a meeting that closed with a performance by singer-songwriters Raul Torres and Ariel Barreiro.
