NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, Apr 8 (ACN) Pedro Campos Llopis, representative of the European Union (EU) in Cuba, recognized in this city of the special municipality Isle of Youth, the relevance of the International Caribbean Film and Environment Festival "Isla Verde 2025" as a platform to reflect on the current context and in the face of climate change.
During his intervention in the theoretical sessions of the event, the head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation in this Caribbean nation emphasized the need to address global challenges from an inclusive, sustainable approach and with shared values.
The official also expressed his hope that the Isle of Youth will become a model of inspiration for the Caribbean and Latin America, thanks to its commitment to renewable energy, low carbon emissions and the preservation of its natural resources.
This festival, which takes place in the Isle of Youth from the 6th to the 12th of this month, is an invitation to reflect and act, concluded Campos Llopis, while stressing the importance of youth in defining a more promising and sustainable future.
