HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (ACN) The Salsa Festival in Cuba sets an important benchmark in the work of Cuban artists and creates a precedent for future generations.
Elito Reve, leader of the group "Elito Reve y su Charangon", told Cuban News Agency in an exclusive interview that one of the special features of the event is the opportunity to showcase the new projects of musicians who are emerging in the genre.
He highlighted the great contribution of leading personalities of Cuban culture whose legacy has been key in events of this kind, such as Elio Reve Matos (1930-1997), Juan Formell (1942-2014), Jose Luis Cortes (1951-2022), Cesar Pupy Pedroso (1946-2022) and Adalberto Alvarez (1948-2021).
He also recalled the imprint of Elena Burke (1928-2002), Benny More (1919-1963) and Barbarito Diez (1909-1995), who are in the hearts of all Cubans.
Los Van Van, Alexander Abreu y Havana D'Primera, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, and Adalberto Alvarez y su Son will be part of the Salsa Festival, who will provide entertainment for the Cuban audience, which is characterized for being very creative and a great dancer, he said.
The Festival de la Salsa en Cuba 2025, one of the most awaited by the people, will last until February 23, and will have as main venues the Club 500 and the Memories Miramar Habana Hotel.
