SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Nov 19 (ACN) The musically creative city of Santiago de Cuba will host the 40th International Jazz Plaza Festival on January 26 to February 2, 2025, according to Rodulfo Vaillant, chair of the local organizing committee.
Jazz Plaza will feature cultural galas, theoretical meetings, performances, concerts and community interventions, among other events, he remarked.
On his end, Víctor Rodríguez, who chairs the national organizing committee, praised the efforts deployed by all people and entities involved in the preparations and announced that awards for the special anniversary will be presented to artists, institutions, personalities and promoters whose work is closely linked to the history of the Festival and of jazz and Cuban culture in general.
Likewise, he stressed the relevance of maintaining and strengthening the link between Jazz Plaza and artistic education through master classes and the engagement of students in the event, as they are the future of Cuban music, he said.
The 40th Jazz Plaza will pay tribute to the 65th anniversary of Cuban cinema and the 510th anniversary of the town of Santiago de Cuba.
