HAVANA, Cuba, May 15 (ACN) The photographic exhibition "Palestine Lives On" was inaugurated at Havana’s International Press Center on the occasion of the 76th commemoration of the Nakba, the date when around 800,000 Palestinian civilians were displaced and dispossessed of land and property in 1948.
The exhibition is divided into two parts: one denounces the daily atrocities that children, women and the elderly in Gaza have suffered at the hands of Israel since October 2023, whereas the other—initially presented at the United Nations headquarters under the name "Palestine: a land with a People"— and visualizes the Nakba (lit. “the catastrophe” in Arabic—marks a before and an after in the history of that nation.
Graciela Ramirez, journalist of Resumen Latinoamericano and member of the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity for the Peoples, said that the exhibition is heartbreaking “as we live through 222nd day of the massacre in Palestine and humanity has been unable to do something as elementary as preserving a child’s life”.
