International Educational Film Festival returns to Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, May 5 (ACN) On May 6 to 12, Cuba will host the 4th International Educational Film Festival (MICE), an event aimed at children and young people, teachers, media specialists and the general public, who will enjoy professional, educational and audiovisual films made by children and teenagers in learning settings.

This year, MICE is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first two short cartoons featuring the emblematic Cuban character Elpidio Valdés, a brainchild of National Film Award winner Juan Padrón.

Marked by screenings of 171 audiovisuals from 15 countries and a special tribute to the French filmmaker and animator Michel Ocelot, the program includes presentations of 24 films from France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Bulgaria, Mexico, Japan and Cuba.

MICE has also scheduled lectures and workshops led by national and international specialists who will share their knowledge with children and teenagers, as well as with teachers, art instructors, project managers, and media professionals.
