Havana, April 30 (ACN) The 4th International Educational Film Showcase will take place May 6-12 in different Cuban localities aimed at promoting audiovisual culture in children and youths.
Showcase general coordinator Ivonne Sanchez told the Cuban News Agency that the event will pay homage to the 50th year of the screening of the two first cartoons of the emblematic character known as Elpidio Valdes https://rb.gy/jr5vwk . The cultural initiative also pays honor to France and movie director and animator Michel Ocelot.
The sample is already running in different regions of the country by screening audiovisuals produced by children in training workshops. The event also includes lectures, by local and international experts who will exchange with kids and youths. An awarding ceremony will close the showcase on May 11th.
Audiovisual culture in today’s world context is crucial, said the director of the Cuban Cultural Research Institute Luis Emilio Aybar, who also praised the significance of showcase for new generations.
The International Educational Film Showcase will be officially opened May 7 at 2:00 pm, Cuba local time at the Yara Movie Theater in downtown Havana.
