The 32nd Book Fair kicks off today in eastern Cuba



SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Mar 19 (ACN) The 32nd edition of the Santiago de Cuba Book Fair will begin today with more than 60,000 copies for sale and will continue until next Sunday, March 24.

Dedicated to intellectuals Jose Orpi Gali and Efrain Nadereau Maceo, the event will be opened at the central Cespedes Park, in this city, with the words of Reyna Gretchen Menendez, director of the Center for Book and Literature.

The fair will also celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Emilio Bacardi Museum, the 65th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the 80th birthday of Olga Portuondo, historian of the Hero City.

The event, whose guest of honor is the Federative Republic of Brazil, will be held at the Amado Roman Sanchez Athenaeum bookstore, Enramadas and Heredia streets, Teresa Melo bookstore and the Elvira Cape Provincial Library, and will also be held in the towns of El Caney, El Cobre and El Cristo, and in work, educational and penitentiary centers.

Likewise, on the occasion of the 61st Trova Festival and the celebration of the six decades since March 19, the date of Pepe Sanchez's birth, was established as the Cuban Trova Day, the route that reveres these creators will take place in the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery. '
The "Pepe Sanchez" also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the creation of the duo Voces Latinas and the trio Palabras.
