HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 8 (ACN) A collective exhibition of talented women painters, called Women in the Collection, will be opened today at the House of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America (ALBA Cultural) as a tribute to International Women's Day.
This institution, as well as the National Center for Plastic Arts and Vicente Feliu's Canto de todos Project, invite the general public to attend the opening of the exhibition at its headquarters in Havana.
In a statement sent to the National Information Agency, they pointed out that the exhibition includes works by Jaqueline Brito Jorge, Sandra Ramos, Flora Fong Garcia, Belkys Ayon Manso, Grethell Rassua Fariñas, Alicia Leal Zaida del Rio, Lesbia C. Vent Dumois, Maria Perez Bravo, Cirenaica Moreira, Lidzie Alvisa, Mabel Poblet and Daylene Rodriguez.
International Women's Day is considered a holiday and commemorative due to the fact that it was established on March 8, 1910 at the 2nd Conference of Socialist Women in Copenhagen.
Coinciding with that date, the 11th Congress of the Cuban Women's Federation will hold its sessions until today at the Havana Convention Center, with the presence of more than 300 delegates.
